I have been counseling for thirty years. It began, unglamorously, in a church basement with two folding chairs — a young mother who couldn’t stop crying and a woman (me) who mostly knew how to be quiet and listen. That is still much of the work.
Since then I’ve sat with widows, elders, teenagers, pastors, and couples who arrived certain it was over. I hold ACBC certification and a master’s in biblical counseling, but credentials are not what makes counseling safe. Attention does. Confidentiality does. Refusing to hand someone a verse as though it were an aspirin does.
I believe Scripture speaks to real, specific pain — not in slogans, but in the slow way water shapes stone. My work is to help you see your own story clearly and to keep pointing, gently, toward the One who is already in it with you.
